Mobile GPS dating app SinglesAroundMe (SAM) has updated its iPhone and Android apps to ensure safe but flirtatious exchanges this Valentine’s Day.

Unlike traditional online dating sites which show singles within a city, SinglesAroundMe introduces singles literally next door thanks to its GPS enabled SAM search function.

The updated app still connects singles with their immediate location worldwide, but solves the security issues raised by some users in regards to revealing their location. Users can now choose exactly how much – if any – of their actual location on maps they want to share as it can now be set to ‘Exact’, ‘Hidden’ or ‘Approximate’.

For Valentine’s Day SinglesAroundMe is also introducing a new ‘Message Radius’ feature, which allows users who wish to receive only messages from singles within a pre-set distance of their location to control how far away they wish to communicate with someone.

SinglesAroundMe CEO Christopher Klotz commented: “SinglesAroundMe continues to innovate and lead the new world of social discovery dating apps. Our next generation apps are a testament to this, as they are smart, intuitive and safe for the millions of users around the world.”
