Monopoly announces that the cat has been chosen as the new token for the game
It’s all change on the high street, as Monopoly has announced the results of its competition allowing the public to choose which game token it wanted to get rid of, and what it would be replaced by.
Fans from over 120 countries voted on Facebook during the competition, which saw a cat, robot, diamond ring, helicopter and guitar fight for the position of being the new game token.
The cat will now replace the iron, which formed one of the original eight icons alongside the racecar, Scottie dog, a shoe, thimble, top hat, wheelbarrow and battleship.
As of yesterday, votes showed that it would be between the boot, the wheelbarrow and the iron to leave.
