New Orleans Superbowl comes in with third highest TV audience

An average of 108.4 million people watched Super Bowl XLVII at New Orleans on Sunday night , the third-largest audience for a television event on record, according to CBS, who aired the game.

The viewership figures exclude a half-hour period when the Baltimore Ravens- San Francisco 49ers clash was interrupted by a partial power outage at the Superdome. CBS continued to broadcast footage from the stadium during that time, but play was halted.
