Bacardi names Andy Gibson as new chief marketing officer

Bacardi Global Brands has named Andy Gibson as its new chief marketing officer and president.

Gibson, who has left his role as chief marketing officer of Carlton and United Breweries, will take up the position in London, having spent 15 months in his former job.

He will now report to Bacardi CEO Ed Shirley having replaced Silvia Lagnado who departed last year.

“Andy’s proven track record of accomplishment is based on a great marketing and brand-building foundation,” said Shirley. “His experience, depth of industry knowledge and proven leadership ability will be strong assets, as we broaden the awareness of our family of iconic Bacardi brands, further expand market opportunities and, ultimately, drive growth.”

He previously spent 12 years at Diageo, working across a number of senior management roles.
