Online bed retailer Time4sleep has unveiled a modernised and animated version of Jack and the Beanstalk with Epiphany.

Created to promote National Storytelling Week, which is running between 26 January and 2 February, the story looks to tell Jack's magical journey in both a regular and poem form.

Jonathan Warren, director at Time4Sleep, said: "A story is a great way to settle younger kids at bedtime; it's calming, it can strengthen the bond between child and parent, and it's a great way to encourage children's creativity. Our animated version of Jack and the Beanstalk is the perfect way to capture the imagination of children who love their digital media: stylised images complement modernised text so kids can watch the magical story play out on-screen while reading along.

"We understand parents' worries about kids sitting in front of the TV right up until bedtime, not thinking about what they are seeing and possible seeing things that are unsuitable. We hope that animated stories such as ours could finally bridge this gap, where moral tales can be delivered in a way that gets kids reading and - best of all – thinking."

Readers will be able to access this modernised Jack and the Beanstalk online or with an iPad.
