Animal welfare charity the RSPCA has awarded its three-year multi-million pound print management contract to marketing solutions provider APS Group, following a competitive tender process with over 10 other print suppliers.

As part of the deal APS Group will manage and produce all materials for the charity including direct mail, promotional leaflets, banners and posters to be used as part of fundraising initiatives. The agency will also have a small team of direct mail specialists permanently based on-site at the RSPCA’s southern support centre in Southwater, Horsham.

The RSPCA has so far relied on its in-house print room to handle fundraising mail-outs throughout the year, but decided a new print partner could offer improved efficiencies as well as increased levels of consultancy on up-to-date direct mail and print techniques.

Alethea Lavington, responsible for strategic sourcing for marketing and campaigns at the RSPCA, said the charity was “impressed with APS Group’s ability to deliver a quality service with maximum value and efficiency,” adding that the agency was a good fit for the RSPCA “both ethically and personally and demonstrated a real understanding of our goals as a charity.”

APS Group client services director, Simon Taylor, added: “We understand how acutely important it is for charities to be as financially efficient as possible. As well as guaranteeing quality across its print output we want the RSPCA to feel confident that we are providing value in everything we do.”
