Greggs brings in Punch Taverns Roger Whiteside as new CEO
High street baker Greggs has announced the appointment of Punch Taverns CEO Roger Whiteside as its new chief executive.
Whiteside, who is already a non-executive director of the company, will take up the position from 8 March following the departure of Ken McMeikan.
Roger Whiteside said: "I joined the Greggs Board in 2008 and I have been impressed with the team, which Ihave got to know well. I look forward to working with them to further develop our strategy. Greggs is a great business with an iconic brand that has strengthened considerably over the past few years. I believe we have a great future."
Before joining Punch Taverns, Whiteside is cited with leading a successful turnaround in the fortunes of off licence chain Threshers Group.
