Codegent confirms Thin Martian acquisition deal

Digital design, UX and build agency Codegent has announced the acquisition of Thin Martian in a bid to broaden its client portfolio allowing for further expansion.

The takeover will see all staff retained from both agencies, with the new company employing around 40 people comprising of staff and regular contractors.

Speaking of the deal, Codegent managing directors David Hart and Mark McDermott said: “When we first met the team at Thin Martian it was clear there was exceptional synergy between the two agencies.

“Together, we represent a world-class design, UX and technical development team. What’s more, we continue to be completely independent, which means the management team remains focused on producing exceptional, award winning work for our clients.”

Thin Martian founders, James Clarke and Bradley Martin, commented: “We’re delighted to join forces with Codegent, it’s truly exciting. Our combined experience and expertise will enhance the services we will provide to both sets of clients.”

The new agency will be based at Thin Martian’s Cowper Street office, close to Old Street, at the heart of London’s ‘Silicon Roundabout’.

Hart added that initially the agency will “continue to trade under both names” but would be run “very much as one company”.
