Marketing communications agency Brass has strengthened its senior team by promoting Cliff Beer, head of finance, to the Board.

Beer joined Brass in 2010 initially tasked with heading up the accounts function, reporting directly to the Brass Board, as well as ensuring the company met all of its legal and financial obligations. Recently Beer has also taken on responsibility for the agency’s central IT and administration functions, health and safety, and operational efficiency.

Prior to joining Brass, Beer was finance director for Bradford-based Seabrook Crisps and held various financial roles in the manufacturing sector before that.

Beer takes up his role on the Board from Friday 1 February, with a remit to drive business performance and assisting with the agency’s overall strategic direction.

Brass chief executive, John Morgan, commented: “We are delighted to welcome Cliff to the Board of Brass. He joined the marketing industry at an exceptionally tough time and has been instrumental in the financial success of the agency in recent times.

“Despite a challenging climate in our sector, Brass profits are in year-on-year growth and Cliff has played an important part in sharpening our operation and maintaining healthy margins.”
