Oprah Winfrey’s interview with disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong is set to be stretched over two parts.

Winfrey interviewed Armstrong this week, discussing the drugs taking allegations that have seen him stripped of his seven Tour de France titles, allegations he is expected to admit to in some manner.

Now, as a result of the level of media interest, the interview will run over two nights on OWN Network in the US on both Thursday and Friday evening.

Winfrey has explained in interviews that her meeting with Armstrong on camera took two-and-a-half hours, rather than the originally planned 90 minutes.

“We felt that to leave over half of this on the cutting-room floor, after millions of people have been waiting for years for many of these answers, would not be the right thing to do,” Winfrey told Gayle King.

The interview segments are expected to reach the UK on the morning after they are broadcast in the US.
