A new smartphone app from British Telecom has been developed to allow users to connect their mobile phones to their landlines.

SmartTalk will enable BT customers to link their smartphones with their home phone contracts and use the same offers, including free evening and weekend calls and cheaper calls abroad.

The free to download app will be available across both Android and iOS, working across both 3G and 4G as well as Wi-Fi, with BT offering up to five mobile phones on one account run through the app.

The service will also allow customers to phone 0800 numbers for free from mobiles, alongside 0845 abd 0870 calls.
