Lincoln leads in 2013 Oscar race - but Brave is up there too!

It's what all you movie buffs have been waiting for: Lincoln is the top 2013 Oscar contender with 12 nominations including Best film, Best Director, Best Actor and Best Supporting Actress, it was revealed today.

Lincoln: most nominated film

007's Skyfall with its Scottish climax is not quoted for a major award - but Scotland's Brave is up for the top animated film.

The nominations for the 2013 trophy fest were announced by Seth MacFarlane and Emma Stone.

The Academy Awards ceremony will be held on 24 February at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles and will be hosted by MacFarlane.

The Best Film nominations were in alphabetical order:


Amour; Argo; Beasts of the Southern Wild; Django Unchained; Les Misérables; 
Life of Pi; Lincoln; Silver Linings Playbook; Zero Dark Thirty.

Best Actor in a Leading Role nominations:

Bradley Cooper in Silver Linings Playbook; 
Daniel Day-Lewis in Lincoln; Hugh Jackman in Les Misérables; 
Joaquin Phoenix in The Master; Denzel Washington in Flight.

Best Supporting Actor nominations :

Alan Arkin in Argo;
 Robert De Niro in Silver Linings Playbook; 
Philip Seymour Hoffman in The Master;
 Tommy Lee Jones in Lincoln;
 Christoph Waltz in Django Unchained

Jessica Chastain in Zero Dark Thirty;
