As reported by The Drum last year, Waitrose has announced that it is set to drop Delia Smith as one of its celebrity chefs when her contract runs out next month.

It has been said that this has been decided ‘by mutual agreement’, with Smith having other commitments for the year.

Rupert Thomas, Waitrose marketing director, said: "It has been such a fantastic experience working together and we have been really appreciative of the work Delia has done with Waitrose. We remain on very good terms and will be continuing to work closely with her until the end of February."

However, Heston Blumenthal is set to continue at Waitrose; with his figgy pudding and chocolate Christmas cake proving to be some of the biggest sellers over Christmas. He will continue his range, and will appear in advertisements for the supermarket.
