According to reports in the British press Adele has trademarked her name in a bid to prevent others from misusing her name on their products.

Speaking to The Sun, a source has claimed "She doesn't want anyone exploiting her name by using it on products which may trick punters into thinking she's involved with it."

By trademarking her name it will be easier for the 24-year-old singer to take legal action against companies who user her name without her permission.

In October superstar couple Beyoncé and Jay-Z made a similar attempt to trademark their daughter Blue Ivy's name.
