To mark the launch of Drum Design Awards its inaugural jury have been invited to select one piece of work produced over 2012 which they have found most inspiring. Over the next few days we will publish the results of this exercise, which gives real insights into the strength of the strength of the UK scene. The next judge to make a selection is John Mathers, chief executive officer of The Design Council who has chosen the White Logistics and Storage rebrand, created by The Allotment Brand Design.

Meanwhile the The Drum Design Awards are now open for entry with jurors that include Malcolm Garrett, Lynda Relph-Knight and John Mathers..

White Logistics and Storage Rebrand – The Allotment Brand Design

The Allotment Brand Design has won many awards for its rebrand of White Logistics. The work is simple, impactful and has clearly done the job; White has generated more than £500,000 of new business in the first nine months since the rebrand. What I particularly like though is the story behind this rebrand - the fact that a logistics company, an unlikely design convert, took the plunge to develop a new logo and ended up completely redesigning their service!

We often find that businesses which take part in our Design Leadership Programme end up embarking on major cultural change. Let’s just hope that White’s success encourages other unlikely businesses to recognise the strategic value of design.Previously, Adrian Burton of Lambie-Nairn chose the Olympic Cauldron as his selection of design work.
