Mobile company Grapple has announced its first acquisition with smartphone and tablet cloud-based content distribution company Toura.

The deal will allow Grapple to integrate New York-based Toura’s technology platforms; Mulberry and Mobile App Producer, into its own services.

The technology is currently being used by companies such as ABC Television, Reader’s Digest, The Boston Globe and Tribune Interactive, as well applications for the Paul Getty Museum, the British Library and the Guggenheim.

Jamie True, Co-Founder of Grapple said that the ability to offer Toura’s technology solutions would be ‘crucial’ to Grapple’s future strategy.

“The combination of our two companies will drive significant value for not only Grapple’s existing client roster, but Toura’s clients too,” added True.

Following the acquisition, Grapple aims to continue to operate Toura in the US, it has confirmed.
