The World Gymnastics Championships, which are to be held in Glasgow in 2015, have selected Scottish creative agency Front Page Design to create the championships branding.

As a qualifying event for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, the championships are expected to attract around 525 of the world’s best gymnasts from 80 countries during 10 days of competition.

Glasgow Life unveiled the branding today, ahead of the only UK round of the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup to held tomorrow (Saturday 8 December) at the Emirates Arena, Glasgow.

Head of events at Glasgow Life, which awarded the account to Front Page following a competitive pitch against four other agencies, Colin Hartley commented: “The 2015 World Gymnastics Championships will continue Glasgow’s proud sporting journey. It will bring together the world’s best gymnasts for what will be an incredible 10 days of competition in a genuinely world-class sporting venue.

“Today marks the start of that journey as we unveil the new brand for the championships. There may well be just under three years till the event itself but we are working tirelessly to make sure that the 2015 World Gymnastics Championships is an event that Glasgow, Scotland and the UK will be proud of.”

The creative materials designed by Front Page will now be used across all media including print, outdoor design, and digital. They will be used to raise awareness of and promote the event, as well as raising the profile of gymnastics as a sport.

Front Page managing director, Felicity Johnson, added: “It’s especially gratifying to now be involved to promoting Glasgow on the world stage…we’re really delighted to have secured another prestigious piece of business on home soil.”
