Interactive audio platform company Soniqplay has partnered with KISS to launch a new app allowing users to easily remix music and share it on social media.

The app is available, from today, to the iOS and Blackberry 7 community via the App Store and Blackberry App World.

Martin Macmillan, founder and CEO of Soniqplay, said: “This is a big day for us as we roll out our first scale commercial launch of our new digital model. We believe music fans want to be able to do more with the music they love and this experience turns the music experience from a passive to an active one.”

The KISS Remixer app allows users to create their own remix of their favourite tracks from the KISS playlist. Each paid download via the app is recognised by the Official Charts Company.

Liz Cunningham, head of commercial programming at Kiss Network at Bauer Media, said: “We are excited about the KISS Remixer launching on iOS and the range of artists we have participating in the app. It’s a great way of getting our listeners creating content as well as creating a new digital revenue model for commercial radio.”

The app includes artists from the majority of the major record labels in the UK and will include songs from Example, Rizzle Kicks, No Doubt, Ellie Goulding and Rudimental.

Tom Bulwer, head of mobile for Ministry of Sound, commented on the launch of the app: “Soniqplay has a combination of a great product and a scalable distribution model. We are really looking forward to seeing the benefits of this new digital revenue stream and the way the app opens up a new level of interaction between fans and the music they love.”
