Nationwide has announced that it is to support The Snowman and The Snowdog, the sequel to The Snowman.

The Nationwide Group will be promoting the film throughout its 800 branches across the country to help generate awareness and promote its range of Children’s Savings accounts.

There will also be downloadable wallpapers for people to choose from, with the campaign to be supported by a social media campaign and a competition for customers to win a holiday to Lapland.

Alastair Pegg, head of brand marketing at Nationwide, said: “Christmas wouldn’t be complete without The Snowman playing on TV so we are really pleased to be able to support the release of the new sequel. Our support of this family favourite fits well with our focus on providing a range of strong children’s savings products.”

The sequel film will air in December 2012 on Channel 4, thirty years after the original was first screened.
