Blockbuster UK consolidates marketing accounts into Live & Breathe

Movie rental chain Blockbuster UK has appointed Live & Breathe to its through-the-line account following a pitch that consolidates its marketing roster.

The appointment will see Live & Breathe made responsible for the integrated marketing strategy for Blockbuster, which will include partnership marketing to promote major releases and season campaigns.

Under the guidance of senior vice president Europe and commercial director UK at Blockbuster, the agency will focus on developing the brand’s offer, with the first task being extensive research into its target audience, which will be used to develop the future strategy that will roll out early next year.

Butler said: “Blockbuster UK is no longer just a video rental store. Rental is the core strength of the business, but there are also retail propositions for movies, games, drinks and confectionery. It is important that we remind consumers of the full Blockbuster offering.”

Nick Gray, managing director of Live & Breathe, added: “There is huge awareness and positive perception for the brand, largely based on historical experience and our role will be to reinforce this with the huge existing shopper base, whilst continuing to acquire new consumers."
