Staffordshire University is working with creative advertising agency Plain English Communications to launch its new Staffordshire Graduate initiative with a TV and cinema advertising campaign.

Georgina Kelly, marketing director at Staffordshire University, commented: “University is becoming a tougher choice. We’ve responded by showing students we’re committed to their success beyond graduation.

“We’re making bold moves. But for them to succeed, potential students need to really take notice and understand what we’re offering and why we’re different. I think Plain English has done a great job understanding and explaining the changes we’ve made to ensure this is achieved.”

The 30-second ad spot, which uses kinetic typography, is part of a wider campaign created by the Birmingham-based agency and features press, radio and digital advertising. There is also a longer web-based version of the film.

Partner at Plain English, Lorraine Hampson, added: “Education is a serious subject. We’re trying to explain complex issues that could affect people’s futures. But no matter how serious, it still needs to be engaging and interesting.”

The advert will air on ITV Central West and ITV On Demand from this week, and will run in cinemas from next week.
