The board of UTV Media plc has announced the appointment of Andy Anson and Coline McConville as non-executive directors with immediate effect.

Anson brings with him experience in the media and sports sectors having held previous roles including CEO of England 2018, England’s bid to bring the FIFA World Cup to England, CEO of ATP Europe, commercial director and board member of Manchester United plc, and managing director of Channel 4 Interactive.

Anson currently holds the role of CEO at European online sports retailer, Kitbag, and is a non-executive director for the British Olympic Association.

Former European chief executive of Clear Channel International, Coline McConville, also joins the UTV Media plc board. McConville is an experienced non-executive director and currently sits on the boards of TUI Travel plc and Wembley National Stadium. She previously served on the boards of Halifax, latterly HBOS plc, and independent TV production company, Shed Media plc.

These appointments, together with that of Stephen Kirkpatrick, mean that UTV Media plc’s board is now fully compliant with UK Governance Code.

“I am delighted to welcome Andy and Coline to the UTV Media plc Board,” commented Richard Huntingford, chairman of UTV Media plc.

“Each bring highly relevant, different yet complementary skills and experiences to the Board which will be of great value as we continue to grow our market-leading businesses in the UK, Ireland and selectively around the world."
