The Weather Company appoints Patrick Vogt as president of international division

The Weather Company (TWC) has named Patrick Vogt as president of its international division.

Vogt joined the company earlier in the year when TWC acquired Weather Central, of which he was CEO. Vogt and his division will now cover all international business for the company including TWC’s digital and professional products and services. Sales, marketing and operational functions within the international regions will also report to Vogt.

“Patrick has been a great addition since joining us a part of the Weather Central acquisition, and we knew immediately we wanted him to be a part of the future of TWC,” commented TWC chairman and CEO David Kenny. “International is one of the key areas of growth for our company, and I am certain his leadership will help us reach our aggressive goals.”

Vogt held the role of CEO at Datran Media (now PulsePoint) before leading Weather Central, previous to that he was CEO of NASDAQ-traded Enliven Marketing Technologies (Unicast). Vogt also held senior executive roles with brands including Sony, Dell and HP, and he currently serves as chairman of the PulsePoint board.

Of his new role, Vogt commented: “I am excited to be leading our growth and expansion internationally, the impact of climate change, weather patterns, weather data and science are some of the most complex big data sets in any industry. We are focused on leveraging the best technologies to analyse data and create predictive analytics that can protect property and save lives across the globe.”

Vogt holds several board of director positions in technology and the Internet, and is founder of angel investment company Green Strategy, focused on building companies with sustainable business practices. He will be based within TWC’s UK office in London reporting to chairman and CEO David Kenny.
