Skype recently launched its service for Windows 8 and has updated Skype for Windows desktop and Skype for Mac to version 6.0.

Its most recent update is Skype for Windows Phone 8, which has been built from the ground-up to be part of the Windows Phone experience.

Just like on Windows 8, Skype for Windows Phone 8 has enabled users to receive chats and notifications for voice and video calls even if they’ve navigated away to another app or have the phone on lock.

Additionally, incoming Skype calls arrive using the familiar incoming call screen from Windows and new features such as call waiting allow for easier switching between a Skype call and a regular mobile call.

Skype for Windows Phone 8 has also been developed with a new interface. When users first open the app, the most recent conversations and chats are the first thing users see.

Once users sign in to Skype their phone contacts are automatically added to the users Windows Phone and users can set up Favorites to keep the most regular contacts quickly accessible.

And finally, just like on Windows and Mac, if a user has linked their Skype Name and Microsoft account, they can now see and chat with Messenger buddies on Skype.
