Alasdair Yeo and Duncan Scobie, winners of the LeedsHack competition to create an app in less than 24 hours, have launched their n0tice app for Android after winning a contract from Guardian Media Group.

The app, GMG’s community noticeboard website, has just gone live, and has led to the pair launching an agency: Tyrell Mobile.

Scobie said: “Both of us have been involved in digital in one form or another for most of our careers, but when we turned up for LeedsHack, it was purely out of personal interest than any plan to set up an agency.

“We were genuinely gobsmacked when we won as the room was full of brilliantly creative and clever people – coders we know and respect.

“We thought winning the competition was just about as good as it could get, but then being invited down to London and asked to produce an Android app for a global media organisation really made us think about our careers.

“We’ve been contacted by marketing agencies in Leeds and London looking for apps to be developed, so we decided it was the right time to launch an app agency and Tyrell Mobile was born.”
