Marketing Birmingham has announced the appointment of Cogent Elliott as its lead creative agency, following a four way competitive pitch.

Cogent will be retained to develop and deliver creative campaigns across Marketing Birmingham’s three themes: the leisure and tourism programmes Meet and Visit Birmingham, and the inward investment programme Business Birmingham.

Tim Pile, Cogent Elliott’s executive chairman, said: “Our appointment takes place at a pivotal moment in Birmingham’s history. There is a huge amount happening right across the city and the potential is enormous. It is a source of great pride for Cogent to play an integral role in Birmingham’s future.”

Neil Rami, chief executive of Marketing Birmingham, said: “As an organisation we have ambitious targets to increase the economic impact of the city’s visitor economy and to support local job creation by attracting new investors and helping indigenous businesses to grow.

“Ensuring our messages about Birmingham’s offer are communicated to our target audiences in a way that encourages action is crucial to our success. We are confident that in working with Cogent Elliott, we will be able to do this and bring real benefits to the city’s economy.”
