Heat magazine has introduced an augmented reality competition within the magazine inviting readers to scan £5, £10 and £20 bank notes for the chance to win £500.

Implemented by creative agency, Engine Creative the competition will run alongside the unveiling of the heat 2012 Richlist which reveals the highest earning celebrities under 30 from the past year, published on Tuesday 23 October. Upon scanning their banknote using the heat extra app, readers will reveal celebrity animations including the likes of Harry Styles and Adele followed by details of how to enter the £500 competition.

The competition is part of Engine Creative’s ongoing collaboration with heat magazine. The creative agency has acted as digital advisors to the brand since it launched augmented reality content in the magazine this August.

Phil Christer of Engine Creative commented: “Acting as digital advisors to heat, innovating new ways to incorporate AR into the magazine is so rewarding.

“Since our collaboration began with the heat brand in July we are thrilled at how well the AR has been received by readers, all I can say is watch this space for what we have lined up for future issues of heat!”
