Oxfam has announced the appointment of Harriet Tolputt, formerly a producer for Sky News, as head of media.

Tolputt will join Oxfam in December, taking over from former Channel 4 PR chief Matt Baker, who has been acting head of media for the last year.

Chris Gottlieb, Oxfam’s director of communications, said: "I am delighted to welcome someone of Harriet's calibre and depth of experience to head up Oxfam’s media team. Harriet's extensive media experience will, I am sure, help towards Oxfam's ambition of overcoming poverty and suffering and ensuring that Oxfam's messages continue to get extensive coverage in the media.”

“I'd also like to take this opportunity to thank Matt Baker for his role at Oxfam. Matt has done a fantastic job over the last year and I wish him all the very best in his future career.”

Having worked for ten years at Sky News, Toputt will now focus on strengthening Oxfam’s global media presence.
