Channel 4 prepares bid for 2016 Rio Paralympic broadcasting rights
David Abraham, Channel 4 chief executive, is said to be preparing a bid for the broadcasting rights for the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games, although BBC hopes that it can gain the rights back.
Channel 4’s coverage of the Paralympic Games received record viewing figures.
Abraham said: "International TV rights are managed by the IPC and we obviously have a very good relationship with them. We are talking to them about how we plan Rio, and how we go about doing that.
"We are very confident we have great ideas and a great relationship [with the IPC]. We have great presenters, everything is in place."
