Uptake of Apple’s troubled Maps app has sunk to a woeful 4%, according to mobile data management firm Snappli.
Following a disastrous launch it means just 1 in 25 iOS 6 users are persevering with the flawed software, choosing instead to install more accurate third party apps.
The survey quizzed iPhone users in the US and UK over there map viewing habits, eliciting the nugget that 25% of users were using Google Maps each day prior to the launch of iOS 6.
Thereafter some 35% of iOS 6 users trialled Apple Maps each day to see what all the fuss was about, but that figure quickly dipped to just 4% - and is still falling.
Apple CEO Tim Cook has openly apologised for the mess, encouraging users to download the superior Nokia Maps or Google Maps.
