The People’s Friend has unveiled a new-look, fully interactive website. Created by publisher DC Thomson’s in-house digital team the website is brighter, fresher, and contains more content to encourage greater reader interaction.

The online presence, managed by the magazine’s editorial team, is intended to go hand-in-hand with the weekly printed edition which first appeared in 1869. Visitors to the site can download Love Darg knitting patterns, access writing guidelines, keep up-to-date with the magazine’s news blog and previews the latest teaser edition of the magazine.

Editor of The People’s Friend, Angela Gilchrist, said the website has brought the publication “right up to date” as it is “eye-catching, clear and easy to use.”

Gilchrist added: “The “Friend” is read and enjoyed by people across the world, and our new website will allow us to interact with all our readers in exciting new ways. For the first time, we also have a Facebook presence, meaning everyone has the opportunity to become a friend of the “Friend”.”

Readers can also browse the online shop, where the latest People’s Friend merchandise is available.
