Managing director of advertising at Dennis Publishing Julian Lloyd Evans is named as new chairman of the PPA Marketing Board

The PPA Marketing Board has announced the appointment of Julian Lloyd Evans, managing director of advertising at Dennis Publishing, as its new chairman.

As chairman, of the division of PPA tasked with promoting magazine brands to media planners and the advertising community, Lloyd Evans will work closely with PPA marketing director, James Papworth, on a number of forthcoming PPA Marketing initiatives, including the release of two new research projects and the PPA Advertising Awards.

Lloyd Evans will replace outgoing chairman, Matt Teeman, when he takes up the post on Wednesday 3 October. Teeman is leaving his current role as managing director, advertising at Immediate Media to become commercial director at Metro.

CEO of the PPA, Barry McIlheney, commented: “Our industry has a powerful story to tell and Julian will play a key role in communicating those messages, and continuing to drive PPA Marketing forward.

“I’m really looking forward to working with him as Chairman of the PPA Marketing Board.”

Lloyd Evans has over 17 years’ experience in publishing and media, and has worked across a number of markets including lifestyle, news weekly, motoring, technology, luxury and games, and has experience from both a publishing and agency perspective.

Of the appointment, Lloyd Evans, said: “I am proud to chair a very talented PPA Marketing board and hope that I can do as good a job as Matt has done over the last four years.

“I would like to thank Barry and the rest of the PPA for this great opportunity.”
