The Independent promotes Christian Broughton to digital editor

The Independent has announced the promotion of Christian Broughton to digital editor for web, mobile and tablet services as part of its plans for growth.

Under Broughton’s lead, the digital team will work to publish more content more often throughout the day and across the brand’s multiple platforms.

He said: “It’s a very exciting time for Independent.co.uk and I am thrilled to be able to lead this talented team in steering Independent.co.uk’s digital growth to deliver high quality content to a quality audience on whichever platform they choose to engage with our brand. ”

Martin King will also be taking on a new role of digital operations editor, where he will oversee daily publishing and content management.
