It has been announced that London’s Air Ambulance is the chosen charity of outdoor media owner Ocean Outdoor.

Ocean Outdoor will work with the city’s flying advanced trauma team to help secure future funding, using its outdoor digital sales sites to raise funds by promoting the work of the service.

The first campaign has promoted National Air Ambulance Week, which takes place this week, asking Londoners to wear red on Friday, September 28 and donate at least £1 to the London service.

Commenting on the announcement, Ocean Outdoor marketing manager Helen Beacham said: “London has just one air ambulance for 10 million people and treated more than 2,000 seriously injured people last year. It’s a service which relies heavily on public donations. By using our premium digital network we can promote the work of the service and help ensure that it continues to save lives.”

Dr Julian Thomson from London’s Air Ambulance added: “We are very grateful to Ocean Outdoor for supporting this vital and life saving London charity. With the awareness and financial support of the 10 million people we serve, London’s Air Ambulance will be able to continue saving lives in London and secure a second helicopter for the capital.”
