A report from mobile ad network Mojiva has found that 69 per cent of UK respondents will purchase the iPhone 5, despite 52 per cent owning their current iPhone for less than six months.

The iPhone 5 Global Report, released to commemorate the five-year anniversary of the iPhone, also revealed that almost half (46 per cent) of UK respondents would like to see more mobile ads including discounts and special offers, while 71 per cent stated they would be more likely to interact with ads on their iPhone based on their previous browsing history.

89 per cent of respondents in the UK stated their intention to purchase the iPhone 5 if reviews are positive.

Amy Vale, VP of global research and strategic communications, Mojiva, commented: “The launch of the iPhone 5 brings a new wave of early tech adopters which will most likely be comprised of 25 to 34 years old with high disposable incomes, and the iPhone 5 is said to have improved, ultrafast wireless connectivity, a larger more vibrant display, and browser and graphics performance twice the speed of its predecessor. This match represents an excellent opportunity to deliver a richer experience and faster load times for content, including video and rich media advertising executions.”
