Supermarket giant Tesco has gone back in time to the 1960s for its latest PR stunt, recreating the look and feel of a supermarket from the era right down to the retro packaging.

The one-off branch was created for the Goodwood Revival racing festival and is partially functional – allowing customers to snap up 1960’s style Marathon Bars Opal Fruits with their Clubcard.

Checkout assistants also get in on the act with period uniforms and hairstyles although much of the rest of the stock merely comprises empty tins and packets.

Tesco is modelling the store on its 1966 Brixton branch.
