Mondadori, the publishing company owned by former Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, has already come under fire for allowing the publication of the topless pictures of Kate Middleton in its French title Closer.

However, it has now been revealed that a second title which it owns, Italian magazine Chi, will also print them.

Despite the announcement that The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will sue French Closer, Italian editor Alfonso Signorini has come out saying: "The fact that these are the future rulers of England makes the article more interesting and topical.

"This is a deserving topic because it shows in a completely natural way the daily life of a very famous, young and modern couple in love,"

Chi magazine will feature a 26-page spread of the couple on the private holiday they took in Provence last week.
