Pele Cortizo-Burgess joins MEC as global integrated planning director

Grey North America’s chief strategy officer Pele Cortizo-Burgess has joined MEC as global integrated planning director.

From today, the former ITV executive will take up the role, based in New York where he will be responsible for oversee a department of 55 people, and develop the agency’s integrated planning offer, while reporting to

Mel Varley, global chief strategy officer and Marla Kaplowitz, CEO of MEC in North America.

Kaplowitz, commented: “It’s a fantastic testament to the creativity and strategic ambition of MEC that Pele has elected to join the team. In today’s changing communications world it is imperative that we deliver step change in strategic leadership for our clients. Pele will be charged to work with our global client leaders to drive thought leadership, creativity and strategic development for our clients and we look forward to exciting developments together.”
