Crown Paints is to ask consumers to consider their own personalities when choosing their colour schemes in a new TV advertising campaign.

The campaign, created by BJL, will go live today (23 August), with the aim of encouraging consumers to be ‘bolder and braver’ with their colour choices to reflect their personalities.

Production of the advert was commissioned to Partizan and Lumiere Studios, which has utilised realflow fluid simulation technology to create the finished result.

Tom Richards, co-creative director at BJL, commented: “Crown asked us to create a well branded ad, so we re-introduced the Crown splash, and made a commercial entirely out of paint with help from the talented team at Partizan. Never before has watching pixels dry been so exciting.”

Liz Hickson, marketing director for Crown Paint, added: “The new ad is the next iteration of our ‘It’s not just paint. It’s personal’ strategy. We wanted to create something that was visually very different from the ad produced in 2011 and that would make us stand out from other leading paint manufacturers. We’re really hoping it will encourage consumers to embrace their personalities and express themselves through the colours they choose to paint their homes.”
