The co-founders of Twitter have unveiled to new websites, Medium and Branch, which they have said they hope will move forward ‘online sharing’.

Created by Ev Williams and Biz Stone, two of the men behind Twitter, Medium will allow people to publish their own photography and writing to share with other users.

The site, still in its infancy, is currently open through invite-only.

Meanwhile Branch allows Twitter users to have a more in-depth conversations with others, allowing users to invite others to converse.

Unlike Twitter, it is understood that no character limit is attached to each message within Branch.
