Global Radio launches enhanced mobile apps across its entire portfolio

Global Radio, owner of Capital FM, Heart and Classic FM, has launched new mobile apps across its entire portfolio.

Designed and engineered in-house at Global, the apps have aimed to demonstrate the most advanced digital strategy in the radio space.

New features have been developed, including rich visuals and the latest relevant content, linking directly to what’s playing on air. Catch up shows have also been included, allowing users to find shows from the previous seven days. The apps have been designed with both iPhone and iPad in mind, with full retina display compatibility.

Additionally, the apps have provided another platform for commercial partners, including pre-roll and display ads and the possibility of hosting exclusive competitions and campaigns.

Global’s founder & executive president Ashley Tabor commented on the latest apps: “Global Radio was the first UK radio group to launch iPhone apps for its stations. Now in 2012 we are re-inventing the user experience all over again, with our brand new iOS apps.

It’s the simplest, most advanced, and most engaging mobile radio experience in the market and I genuinely believe that once you’ve used one of these new apps, you’ll never want to experience radio on any other app again," added Tabor.
