The Marketing Practice has announced the appointment of Robert Ainger as associate director.

Ainger’s most recent role was as corporate marketing director at Orange, he brings with him over 20 years of B2B marketing experience in ICT and telecoms. Ainger will now head up The Marketing Practice’s o2 account.

Paul Everett, director at The Marketing Practice, said of the appointment: “: “There’s a myth that agencies don’t hire senior people if they only have client-side experience. But our own CEO had never worked at an agency before founding The Marketing Practice, so there’s a great precedent for Robert joining.”

Ainger specialises in defining and marketing high value ICT propositions, as well as understanding what is involved in balancing revenue and reputation goals within a complex B2B organisation.

Ainger added: “Having seen many different agencies from the client’s perspective over the course of my career, I think The Marketing Practice has a very exciting proposition. B2B is increasingly driven by well-targeted conversations between customers, suppliers and partners.

“The business has a great model that helps clients (and their customers) drive value from these interactions – building long-term, profitable relationships.”
