Volkswagen has created a Showroom iPad app with Tribal, with the aim of enhancing the customer experience.

The launch of the interactive retailer network will see over 2,000 iPads installed in Volkswagen retailers nationwide; showcasing the entire model range with all possible combinations of features.

Tom Roberts, managing director at Tribal, said: “This app integrates technology and retail together on an unprecedented scale. This trailblazing initiative is a logical extension to the digital thread which we created for Volkswagen following our design and build of their website and iPhone app.”

Customers will be able to design, build, search and save their choice of Volkswagen on the Car Configurator iPhone app; with these personalised details then able to be accessed on the iPad app.

Rod McLeod, head of marketing for Volkswagen, said: “This groundbreaking, national scheme is the first of its kind and signals the future of the ‘in showroom’ experience. Customers will have unlimited choice with our national database at their fingertips. It will bring us closer to our customers and provide a seamless car choosing experience.”
