Roger Mosey, the BBC’s director of Olympic coverage is to take on the acting director job at BBC Vision, as George Entwistle moves to take over the director general role being vacated by Mark Thompson.

Former Radio 5 Live controller, Mosey, will take up the post following the conclusion of the Olympics on 20 August, with Entwistle set to take over in the top job in September.

Yesterday, it was reported that Mosey told the New York Times that the BBC would be ‘killed’ had it chosen to take a delayed broadcast strategy to the Olympics, a strategy that US broadcaster NBC has been heavily criticised for using.
