The brand and marketing strategy for the proposed Civic Centre in Brent is to be developed by Uniform.

The Liverpool-based brand communications agency, which has recently also been appointed to create a new place brand and business brand for the London Borough of Hounslow, has been collaborating with Brent Council to engage with stakeholders throughout the process.

The proposal aims to see the build of a nine-floor, 40,000 sq meter centre, which will become the council’s headquarters, housing 2,300 council workers.

Tim Sharp, design director at Uniform, commented: “This is a pioneering project in one of London’s main regeneration areas. It’s a complex project due to the nature of the building and the stakeholders. By using our methodology we were able to uncover the positioning for the building and develop a strategy that met their objectives both from a community and commercial perspective.”

He added; “The aim is create a centre that becomes a destination, for residents and the wider public, but also capitalises on the borough’s location at one of the world’s most recognisable landmarks."

Aktar Choudhury, assistant director Major Projects & Civic Centre, LB Brent, added: “Brent’s new Civic Centre will improve the experience our residents have when dealing with the council. We want our communities to visit, use and enjoy the building as a community hub. That’s why we are creating such a fantastic range of different spaces for use by the local people and for income generation.”

The centre is planned to be built next to Wembley Stadium in North London.

Uniform has also won a place on the roster for the Olympic Park Legacy.
