KEO Films has announced that it has appointed the BBC’s Nick Shearman to take the helm at the studios newly opened Bristol base.

KEO West will handle all River Cottage output as well as Three Good Things and the Three Go Mad series.

Shearman, who previously served as BBC Knowledge commissioning editor, said: “I'm delighted to be joining Keo, a great company with a fantastic track record in documentary and features programming. It's an exciting opportunity to build on what's been achieved by expanding the range of broadcasters and programmes within Keo's portfolio while also developing already successful brands such as River Cottage.

“As someone who lives in Bristol, I'm keen to work with broadcasters to grow factual talent in the West Country further and offer a greater range of opportunities to younger talent coming through.”

Debbie Manners, MD of KEO Films, said: “Setting up the new Bristol office and hiring Nick is an exciting step for KEO as we expand and accelerate our growth. KEO’s aim is build on its existing range of successful shows as we develop new ones. Opening KEO West and Nick’s appointment will give us the focus we need to to that. It also re-inforces our commitment o the West Country.”
