Lager brand Stella Artois is launching a dedicated bursary scheme in association with Picturehouse Cinemas to support a series of industry events over the next six months.

Aiming to support creative talent and provide unique cinematic experiences to movie fans, the scheme will help to establish the brands relationship with film. Following the Stella Artois Cannes Cinema Club launch earlier this year the bursary scheme will help to support six Q&A events and film premieres and previews, taking place at Picturehouse Cinemas throughout the remainder of the year.

Tickets to the events can be won via the Stella Artois Facebook page, and online at the home of the Stella Artois Cannes Cinema Club. The first event will take the form of a satellite Q&A and screening of the upcoming real-life thriller, The Imposter, directed by Bart Layton taking place on 19 August 2012 at the Hackney Picturehouse Cinema. The film will also be broadcast via satellite on the night to over 30 cinemas before its official UK release.

Marketing director for Stella Artois Western Europe, James Watson, commented: “Our bursary scheme endeavours to keep the beauty of cinema alive by creating unique film events that film fans can appreciate and enjoy nationwide.

“Our on-going partnership with Picturehouse Cinemas reflects our long-standing support of great film and film makers and provides the opportunity to make standout film events like this happen which otherwise may not have been possible.”

Applications are still open and should be directed to film specialists, elevenfiftyfive who are looking after the process.
