US rapper Dr Dre has struck upon a novel means of circumventing the IOC’s onerous ban on unapproved marketing around Olympics venues – by delivering sets of customised Beats headphones to Team GB athletes.

The branded earpieces have been modeled by several swimmers as they made their entrance at the Aquatics Centre, gaining significant exposure on the BBC in consequence.

Beats representatives traveled to the team hotel on Monday to divvy out the gifts, with many tweeting about their good fortune, despite the fact that athletes are currently forbidden from promoting personal sponsors.
