Print, envelope, direct mail and election specialist, Paramount Printers, has created an online ordering system for The Scottish Parliament.

The Edinburgh based company designed the system over a three month period as part of the £500,000 printed stationery and fulfilment services contract they retained earlier this year.

The system, which went live today (19 July), has allowed Parliament staff and MSP officers to order stationery and other printed items using a personal login and track the process of their request.

The bespoke site is currently averaging around 50 customer requests each month and it is anticipated that other multisite/multi-user customers will utilise the technology for their own stock management.

Paramount managing director, Paul Hepburn, commented: “Already we’ve seen a large number of Parliament staff setup their personal login and begin using the system – it’s proving to be extremely time efficient when processing orders.”

The system has also allowed Paramount to process orders and artwork without manual intervention, enabling them to reflect production savings as cost reductions to The Parliament.
