Over £1bn in events budget spend to descend on Scotland as delegates from McDonald’s, Microsoft, Nike & Cisco attend SECC conference

Next week will see delegates representing over $1bn of event spent come together in Glasgow to attend a conference at the SECC.

The event, produced by the Professional Convention Managers Association (PCMA), has come together through a partnership between the venue, Glasgow City Marketing Bureau and VisitScotland, has attracted 30 delegates representing brands such as McDonald’s, Microsoft, Nike and Cisco.

As well as Glasgow, the delegation will also visit five-star hotel Gleneagles and Scotland’s capital city, Edinburgh.

Ben Goedegebuure, Sales Director of the SECC and International board director for the PCMA commented: “These delegates represent the G20 of the world of events and significant global investment and we are Immensely proud to be hosting this, the first ever Global Summit in Glasgow.

“The event will see delegates sharing knowledge and exploring new strategies and directions for global event management and we’re delighted they have chosen Scotland and Glasgow as the backdrop for these discussions.”
